My Story - Why I Became a Medical Intuitive

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Many people have asked me how I got into the intuitive work that I do. This is My Story.

I do what I do because I love it. I feel a genuine spiritual draw to teach and to bring well-being to the world. Both Reiki and Medical Intuition offer complementary additions to Allopathic medicine. It is truly an honour to do this work. As a practitioner, there are many ways to heal and nurture the body and just as people are unique individuals, so are their numerous practitioners.

A strong intuition is something I have had my whole life. I remember as a small child just knowing stuff. I didn’t dare share with my family or friends the things I knew, as I was afraid of being weird or odd. In hindsight, I would have loved to discover how the intuition all worked decades before I did. The world would have made so much more sense to me if I had a mentor to tell me I wasn’t imagining things, or making them up, or being too sensitive (a label I carried into adulthood).

I went to see a Medical Intuitive in 2007 after my 4 month-old grand daughter Madeline, died of SIDS. I was broken and in pain and looking for answers to the grief I was feeling. What this practitioner awoke in me was my “gift” of intuition and started me on this incredibly rewarding journey with Reiki, Medical Intuition and Channeling. I have spoken to Madeline many times on the other side and shared some lovely healing moments with her and my daughter.

My most incredible experiences with my honed channeling skills are communications with my deceased mother Helen. What an honour and a privilege. What is so amazing is that we are closer in her passing than when she was alive. This is a regret I have, but, experiencing her presence and love from the other side has helped me to heal immensely some of those old childhood wounds. I am able to share my life with her and share my love. It doesn’t matter that her physical body is not here. Energy never dies. It just changes form.

"Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art."

~ Leonardo Da Vinci

Before working in the field of Medical Intuition and Reiki, I worked in the non-profit sector for 25 years primarily with and for children. I have an affinity for teaching and ameliorating the lives of children in most of my work, from lifeguarding as a youth, to teaching various programs including curriculum development, as well as first aid, and a run in the tourism industry. My contribution to this planet is a genuine passion for sharing my knowledge with others and helping them to heal their bodies and their hearts.

"Learning to defy gravity in your world - to think, perceive, and

act at the mystical level of consciousness - is the greatest gift

you can give yourself, because it is the gift of truth."

~ Caroline Myss

Aside from my intuitive work, my interests are reading prolifically, yoga, hiking, spending quality time with family, playing the flute and traveling. I love the west coast of British Columbia. Where else can you be a five-minute walk from a stunning rainforest trailhead and a Sea Bus ride to the heart of the city? I feel spiritually connected here to the mountains, the forest, and the ocean.

I learn and grow every day and work on my own personal healing through sharing my Reiki with others, through education and practice, and reaching out to other practitioners for learning, teaching and mentoring, and also participating in a community of like-minded beings.

I believe that we are one collective consciousness that work in unison to create this magnificent world we live in. We all have a moral responsibility to bring love and understanding to all that we do, including protection of this beautiful planet, to caring for the children, to standing up for what is right and just.

"We are travellers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity."
