Five Corporate Benefits of Meditation Physical - Emotional - Mental - Spiritual

1. Reduces Stress

Stress reduction helps to lower and slow down hormone secretions (cortisol spikes) that taxes the adrenal glands and the cortisol and epinephrine spikes in the brain. Your body becomes less reactive to the external stimuli in your environment.

2. Increases Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the art of being completely aware of what is happening in your body and how you are responding to external stimuli while these sensations, thoughts and feelings are taking place. It's about being an observer of your reactions and body awareness. By doing this you can tune in to the reactions and become aware of patterns of behaviours and what creates your responses. Being aware means that we can get comfortable with knowing our triggers and finding more appropriate ways to express our thoughts and emotions.

3. More Responsive, Less Reactive

When you practice meditation there is a shift that takes place over time. Because you have created the space for stress reduction and increased mindfulness, an opportunity presents itself to create a gap from knee jerk thinking to reactions that are more positive and thoughtful. For example; something in the past that would have sparked anger can, over time, lead you to inquire about why you are reacting and also, lead you to curiosity rather than anger. This promotes a healthier person and a healthier workplace environment.

4. Increases Attention and Awareness

When you are more relaxed, you will not only sleep better, but when you are awake, you will be more alert, and decision making skills will be more thoughtful and accurate. Increased attention and awareness helps the individual to focus on body reactions, thoughts and emotions. This creates more self-awareness.

5. Increases Resiliency

Resiliency is the ability to bounce back from difficult experiences and sources of stress whether it is work relations or personal (workplace, financial, health, relationships). The ability to weather the storms of life are increased by your bodys' and minds' ability to cope.
